The Under 13 Girl's English National Cross-Country Championships took place at Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath, London. The event was sponsored for the fourth year on the run by Saucony.
Melissa Hawtin (Oxford City AC) beat Midland champion Kate Holt (City of Stoke-on-Trent AC) by six seconds. Camilla Freeman (Bodyworks XTC Tri RC) finished in third place.
In the team race Aldershot, Farnham & District AC were too strong for the other challengers. Runners-up spot went to Leicester Coritanian AC with Mansfield Harriers third.
