Whitley Abbey School, Coventry on Saturday 24/02/1968 2 Miles (Intermediates)

Whitley Abbey School in Coventry hosted the Intermediate Women's National Cross-Country Championships. The course was one small and one large lap making up the 2 miles, the going was firm and the terrain was varied and included some hills.

At the end of the first small lap the leader was Angela Lovell (Solihull AC) from Marion Brownley (Bolton United Harriers & AC), Carol McClennan (Surrey AC), J Elvins (Bromsgrove & Redditch AC) and Jean Tye (Watford Harriers). On the second lap Brownley took over the lead and quickly extended the lead to 25 yards which she maintained until she crossed the line in 12:33. Runner up was J Elvins with Angela Lovell third.

Westbury Harriers edged Woking AC by 7 points in the team event with Bromsgrove & Redditch AC third.
