Witton Park, Blackburn in Lancashire hosted the Under 17 Women's National Cross-Country Championships. The course was 5,000 metres in length.

Bev Gray (Riddings AC) won by 19 seconds from Juliette Oldfield (Kettering Town Harriers) with Alison Outram (Parkside AC) third.

Aldershot, Farnham & District AC's quartet were all inside the first 56 and this gave them a 34-point victory over Oadby & Wigston Legionnaires AC with Solihull & Small Heath AC in bronze position.
