Stone told Athletics Weekly: "I was expecting to finish quite highly - and top 10 would have been really nice in the run-up to the English Schools, but to win it was amazing. After the first small lap I went to the front with Laughlan and then toward the end kicked on to win as we came into the final straight."

Team honours went to Cambridge & Coleridge AC who beat Invicta East Kent AC by 19 points with Aldershot, Farnham & District AC third.
