The fourth Women's National Junior Cross-Country Championship took place at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey. The course was 2¼ miles length and the race started in front of the grandstand and followed the Great Metropolitan Stakes course.


Approximately 100 members from the 17 clubs entered were started off by Mrs. Gorringe, Hon. Secretary of the Epsom Harriers and a large crowd had assembled to witness the event.


22-year-old Miss Evelyn Forster won in 15 minutes dead having a lead of 22 seconds over her nearest rival Miss L. Roberts of Portsmouth Atalanta AC. Third place went to Miss Peggy Camfield of Mitcham AC.


The team event was won by Mitcham AC who had four in the first nineteen to amass 47 points. Reigate Ladies AC were surprise runners up with 80 points, the club had only been in existence for 18 months. Bronze medals went to Portsmouth Atalanta AC.
