The sixth Women's A.A.A. National Junior Cross-Country Championships took place at Epsom Downs Racecourse. The start and finish were by the winning post and the 2¼ mile course was exceptionally heavy and hilly in parts.

At the half-way stage Miss M. Clarke (Birchfield Harriers) led, coming into the finish with just 20 yards or so from the tape, in her excitement, she tripped and her clubmate Miss Mary Holt seized her opportunity and flashed by to gain a three yards' victory. Clarke was second with J Garland of Reigate Borough Ladies AC third.
