The eleventh Women's National Cross-Country Championships were held at Kynoch's Recreation Ground, Perry Barr, Birmingham. The course was two laps and three miles in length.
Last year's champion Nellie Halstead (Radcliffe Harriers) was unable to compete and therefore Lillian Styles (London Olympiades AC) was considered the favourite.
As far as the teams are concerned the issue was likely to rest between the Small Heath and Birchfield harrier clubs. Epsom Harriers were also said to have a good team and London Olympiades, three time winners, were always a stiff proposition.
Miss Lily Styles (London Olympiades AC), the Southern champion, secured the individual title for the sixth time covering the course of slightly more than three miles in 28min. 40sec. and won comfortably from Miss M. French (Birchfield Harriers), who was second in 29min. 22sec. Miss M. Caulfield (Bradford A.C.) was third in 29min. 36sec.
