The seventh Women's A.A.A. National Junior Cross-Country Championships took place at Prestbury Perk Racecourse, Cheltenham. The 2¼ mile course was made up of two laps of the inner course with a gate being the only obstacle. Admission to the event was 6d. Last year's individual winner, Miss Mary Holt, was ineligible.

Miss M. Cummins (Cheltenham St. Gregory's AC) put in a splendid effort and led the field for the greater part of the race but was overtaken by the winner Miss I. Riggott (Sheffield United Harriers) and runner up Miss J. Holmes (Small Heath Harriers). Miss Riggott's winning time was 19:48 only 2 seconds ahead of Miss Holmes.

There was a mix up in the team results as one of the Sheffield United Harriers runners wasn't counted and Ilford AC left the racecourse with the cup and gold medals. However, the results was corrected over the weekend of the race after the discovery of the error and the winners were Sheffield United Harriers (39 points), with Ilford AC second (43 points) and Birchfield Harriers third (45 points).
