The second Junior National Cross-Country Championships took place over a 6-mile course at Bromford Bridge Racecourse in Birmingham. The course consisted of two small laps and two large laps.
The Northern champion G B Saunders (Bolton United Harriers) won the race with ease beating Cpl. Field of the Royal Signals by over 30 seconds. Walter Hesketh (Manchester AC) was third.
Sheffield United Harriers won the team race by 16 points from the Royal Signals who had to wait until 65th position for their last scoring man after placing three in eighteen. Westbury Harriers picked up the bronze medals.
