Woodbank Park, Stockport on Saturday 24/01/1953 (Junior Ladies)

The seventeenth Junior Women's National Cross-Country Championship took place in Woodbank Park, Stockport over a course of 21/2 miles, there were 12 teams and four individual entrants. The individual title was won by 20-year-old Miss Diane Leather (Birchfield Harriers), who, competing for the second time only, finished 10 seconds ahead of Miss Marian Davies (Stockport Harriers). Helen Vincent (London Olympiades AC) was third. In the team event Ilford AC edged London Olympiades AC by eight points with Harborne Harriers picking up bronze medals.
