The ninth Junior English Cross-Country Championships took place at Warwick Racecourse.
Rowland Langridge (South London Harriers) and Alan Cocking (Bramley & District Harriers) raced together at the front of the field until the last 50 yards, when Langridge broke away to win. F J G Salvat (Finchley Harriers) was third with Gerry North (Blackpool & Fylde Harriers) fourth.
Langridge picked up two golds as his team South London Harriers easily won the team race. Manchester & District Lads Club were 114 points adrift in second with Southgate Harriers third.
