The twenty-sixth Junior Women's National Cross-Country Championship took place at Leverhulme Park, Bolton, Lancashire. The race was won by Carole Mitchell (Mitcham AC) in 17:44 beating Joy Catling (Highgate Harriers) by 15 seconds. Third place went to Brenda Bailey (Bury & Radcliffe AC).

Carole Mitchell led Mitcham AC to victory in the team event, Mitcham AC beat Hampstead Harriers by a single point with Birchfield Harriers in third.
