The sixteenth Junior English Cross-Country Championships took place at Coldham's Common, Cambridge. The course was six miles in length and comprised three small laps.
John Farrington (Cheltenham & County Harriers), the Australian London University student led from gun to tape. Farrington won by 53 seconds from Bill Adcocks (Coventry Godiva Harriers). The bronze medal went to John Hammond (Coventry Godiva Harriers).
