Aldershot Park, Aldershot, Hampshire on Saturday 22/02/1969 (Intermediates)

The Intermediate Women's National Cross-Country Championships were held at Aldershot Park, Aldershot, Hampshire. Pauline Chun (Swindon AC) led after the first lap, but Chun was overtaken by Linda Motton (Basildon AAC) on the second lap. With 200 yards to go Motton looked to have the race sewn up but Motton faltered and checked to see how near her closest rival was, this only served to spur on Mary Sonner (Watford Harriers) and Sonner caught Motton 10 yards from the line. Pauline Chun held on to third place and the Scottish champion Rose Murphy (Bathgate AC) was fourth.

Bury & Radcliffe AC won the team title edging Watford Harriers be a mere two points, Westbury Harriers were third, only three points behind Watford.
