The Junior Girl's National Cross-Country Championships were held at Aldershot Park, Aldershot, Hampshire.

Christine Tranter (Farnworth Harriers) was the first to show before being overtaken by Northern champion Christine Helsby (Stretford AC). With 200 yards to go Helsby was still in front but kept looking over her shoulder only to be caught on the finishing line by Barbara Watts (Southend Harriers) who won by a few inches. The bronze medal went to L Degg of Stoke.

In the team race City of Stoke-on-Trent AC beat Southend Harriers by 28 points with Westbury Harriers third.
