The Junior Girl's National Cross-Country took place at Keep Hill Wood, High Wycombe. The course was described as tough with a gradual upward slope of plough at the end.
The Junior Girl's race was the first to start. Helen Hill (Cannock & Stafford AC), the Midland champion, took the National individual title with Jill Williamson (Sale Harriers) 13 seconds adrift in the silver position. Monica Joyce held of a challenge from Northern champion Anne-Marie Robinson (Sale Harriers) to take bronze.
