The Minor Girls' Women's National Cross-Country took place at Keep Hill Wood, High Wycombe. The course was described as tough with a gradual upward slope of plough at the end. Clerk of the Course and local organiser Eric Abraham at the presentaation of awards said "I am not apologising for the course. These are, after all, the National championships!"
After success in the Scottish National the girls from Pitreavie AAC succeeded as the English National taking with Karen Williams and Fiona McKenzie taking the gold and silver respectively. Bernadette Madigan (Windsor, Slough & Eton AC) took the bronze.
