Western Park, Leicester on Saturday 23/02/1974 (Intermediates)

Western Park in Leicester hosted the Intermediate Women's Cross-Country Championships. The course was firm and mainly grassland and consisted of two laps. After the first lap had been completed Ann-Marie Robinson and Barbara Schofield both of Sale Harriers led Christina Boxer (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) and Ann Cherry (Pitreavie AAC), with Jill Robinson (Sale Harriers), S. Smith (Bristol AC) and M. Leisk (Hull Spartan) in pursuit. On the second lap Robinson and Schofield broke away and battled al the way to the finish with Robinson winning by a few metres in 15:14. Boxer finished in third place, Cherry fourth and Jill Robinson fifth.

Although Sale Harriers had three runners in the first five they had to wait until 75th place for their fourth counter and Aldershot, Farnham & District AC beat them to the team title with four in the first nineteen. Third place went to Havering AC.
