Western Park in Leicester hosted the Girl's Cross-Country Championships. The course was firm and mainly grassland.
Jackie Priest (Wycombe Phoenix Harriers) won by ten seconds from Shirley Johnson (Leicester Coritanian AC) with Fay Nixon (Grangemouth Olympiads) third.
One point separated the top three in the team event with Leicester Coritanian AC edging Cannock & Stafford AC and Sale Harriers.
