The Intermediate Women's National Cross-Country Championships was hosted at Birches Head, Stoke-on-Trent. The 3,800m course was described as hilly and was organised by City of Stoke AC. On the day the course was very muddy and in some parts was ankle deep and many of the runners lost their spikes. Wendy Smith (Feltham AC) won the individual title beating Kerry Robinson (Pitreavie Amateur AC) by 22 seconds. Third place went to Christine Brace (Verlea AC).
