Hagley Park School, Rugeley on Saturday 16/02/1980 (Girls)

The playing fields of Hagley Park School in Rugeley, Staffordshire were hosts to the Girls' National Cross-Country Championships. Local club Cannock Chase AC helped facilitate the event that had attracted over 2500 entries. The race was sponsored by ICL.

Defending champion Tracey Gleed (Wycombe Phoenix Harriers) won by 15 seconds from early leader Samantha Davis (Bromsgrove & Redditch AC) with Maria O'Shea (Basingstoke AC) third.

Exeter Harriers took the team title by just four points from Midland champions Bromsgrove & Redditch AC. The girls from Andover AC took home the bronze medals.
