The Racecourse, Carlisle on Saturday 20/02/1982 (Girls)

The Girl's National Cross-Country Championships took place at Carlisle Racecourse.

Rachel Hughes (Fleet & Crookham AC) led from gun to tape, Hughes was pursued by Lesley Rankin (Victoria Park Harriers) and Christine Keller (Manchester & District Harriers) but the chasing pair were caught by Susan Jordan (Luton United Harriers). Hughes won by 60 metres and Jordan edged Rankin for second.

Rankin had some consolation with a team victory beating Bedford & County AC with Sale Harriers third.
