Arrowe Park, Birkenhead, Wirral hosted the Girl's National Cross-Country Championships. The even was sponsored by Provincial Insurance Limited.

Tonbridge AC pair Julie Adkin and Stacy Washington set the early pace in this race, Adkin went on to win by six seconds from Natalie Tait (Copeland AC) with Chaanah Fothergill (Hallamshire Harriers) third and Washington fourth.

Jemima Slade (8th) and Miranda Thomas (10th) gave Tonbridge AC the team title by a massive 118 points. Runners up were Stockport Harriers with Liverpool Harriers third.
