Foots Cray Meadows, an area of parkland and woodland of 240 acres in size within the London Borough of Bexley, played host to the Junior Girls's National Cross-Country Championships. The course was 3500 metres in length. Provincial Insurance Limited once again sponsored the event.


Claire Nicholson (Darlington Harriers) sped away in the last half mile to take victory in the individual race. Runner up was Nicola Ashe (Borough of Hounslow AC) with Julie Adkin (Tonbridge AC) third.



Liverpool Harries edged Oldham & Royton Harriers to team honours with a nine point victory. Third place went to City of Stoke-on-Trent AC.
