The Intermediate Women's National Cross-Country Championships sponsored by Athletics Today took place at Cheltenham Racecourse. The intermediate race was run in conjunction with the Junior Ladies.
15-year-old Sharon Murphy (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) took an early lead and came home first intermediate. Eleanor Motherwell (Cambridge & Coleridge AC) picked up silver and bronze went to Sarah Salmon (Newquay & Par AC).
In the team race Bedford & County AC packed four in the first 35 to take the title ahead of Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers with Cannock & Stafford AC third.
