The Girl's National Cross-Country Championships sponsored by Athletics Today took place at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Annette Barker (Keighley Road Runners) won the individual title by 16 seconds from Susan Pendrich (Dartford Harriers) with Dawn Adams (Liverpool Harriers) grabbing bronze.

In the team race Liverpool Harriers packed four in the first 32 to take the title ahead of Elswick Harriers with Bedford & County AC third.
