The Junior Girl's National Cross-Country Championships took place on Stopsley Common, Luton. The course was 3,700 metres in length.

Helen Foster (Morpeth Harriers) won by a whisker recording the same time as runner up Victoria Robinson (City of Stoke-on-Trent AC). Just one second adrift in third was Louise Powell (Blackburn Harriers).

Northern champions Sale Harrier easily won the team award over close neighbours Liverpool Harriers with Cannock & Stafford AC third.
