The Junior Women's National Cross-Country Championships took place at Wigmore Valley Park, Luton. This was the first joint male and female event in National Cross-Country history.
Alice Braham (Parkside AC) went into the led from the gun with Southern champion Liz Talbot (Bedford & County AC), Alison Outram (Parkside AC) and Bev Gray (Riddings Youth Centre AC) in pursuit. Braham won the race in 16:59, 12 seconds ahead of Bev Gray with Alison Outram in third.
