Newark on Saturday 09/03/1996 3 Km (Under 13 Girls)

The Under 13 Girl's English Cross-Country Championships took place at the showgrounds at Newark.

Lucy Michaelson (Liverpool Harriers) led for most of the race but with 500 metres to go Michaelson was overtaken by the fast finishing Sarah Raven (Southend Harriers). Raven went on to win by 17 seconds with Michaelson second and Midland champion Leona Widdicks (Northampton Phoenix AC) third.

Michaelson had the consolation of leading Liverpool Harriers to the team title as they beat Aldershot, Farnham & District AC by 16 points with North Shields Polytechnic taking bronze.
