The Under 17 Women's English Cross-Country Championships took place at the showgrounds at Newark.

Amber Gascoigne (Wells City Harriers) trailed Caroline Walsh for most of the race but managed to overhaul her on the clay to take gold. Walsh held on for silver from the fast finishing Sonia Thomas (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers).

Liverpool Harriers (311) narrowly beat Milton Keynes AC (317) to take team gold with Northampton Phoenix AC third.
