Havant on Saturday 08/03/1997 3.6 Km (Under 15 Girls)

The Under 15 Girl's English Cross-Country Championships took place at Staunton Country Park near Havant. The location was the southernmost point the event had been run in the history of the race.

Northern champion Nicola Coates (Cramlington Harriers) used the testing hill leading to the finishing straight to win the individual title. Runner-up was Lisa Samuels (Stevenage & North Herts AC) with Emma Ward (City of Stoke-on-Trent AC) third.

Aldershot, Farnham & District AC won the team race from Shaftesbury Harriers by 20 points with Liverpool Harriers a distant third.
