Roundhay Park on Saturday 14/03/1998 3 Km (Under 13 Girls)

The Under 13 Girl's English Cross-Country Championships took place at Roundhay Park in Leeds. Race highlights were shown the following day on Sky Sports. The race was sponsored by the sportswear company View From.

At the halfway stage three runners were clear of the pack. Leading was Charlotte Moore (Bournemouth AC) with Courtney Birch (Liverpool Pembroke & Sefton Harriers) 20 metres adrift and Helen Lee (Parkside AC) third. Birch caught and passed Moore and increased her lead on Hill 60 to take the individual title by 15 metres. Moore was second with Lee third.

Birch made it double gold as Liverpool Pembroke & Sefton Harriers packed four in 32 to take the team title. Runners up were Bedford & County AC with Aldershot, Farnham & District AC third.
