Newark on Saturday 13/03/1999 5 Km (Junior Ladies)

The Junior Women's National Cross-Country Championships took place at Newark, Nottinghamshire. The race was sponsored by View From and was 5km in length and mainly flat.

Sonia Thomas (Wallsend Harriers) romped to victory in the individual event with a 35 second win over Karen Fletcher (Kirk Hallam AC). Early leader Emma Brooker (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) paid heavily in the closing stages and was passed by Thomas and Fletcher but held on for third.

The team title was won by Charnwood AC who beat Sale Harriers by 68 points. Third place went to Ashford AC.
