The Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country Championships took place at Parliament Hill Fields. The event was sponsored by shoe company Saucony.

Northern champion Karrie Hawitt (Warrington AC) won the individual race by over a minute from Stacey Johnson (Cannock & Stafford AC) with Sally Ponsford (City Of Salisbury A & RC) third.

Team gold went to Aldershot, Farnham & District AC who packed four into the first twenty-six to beat Cannock & Stafford AC by 20 points with Bristol AC third.
