The Junior Women's National Cross-Country Championships took place at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds, this was the first time the National had been hosted at this venue. The course was 4.8km. The event was sponsored by Saucony.
Faye Fullerton (Havering & Mayesbrook AC) won the race by 15 seconds from Bryony Frost (Isle of Wight AC) with Karrie Hawitt (Warrington AC) third. After the race Fullerton said "I got the worst start; must have been in the 40s. I thought maybe I could still get a medal but I didn't think I could win until there was maybe a mile to go."
