The Under 13 Girl's English National Cross-Country returned to Leeds but not at the usual venue of Roundhay Park as this was undergoing refurbishment but at Temple Newsam. The event was sponsored by Saucony. This was the first time the 1500-acre park had hosted the National. The course consisted of farmland and parkland and included a few hills.
Blue Haywood (Lincoln Wellington AC) win the individual race by 11 seconds from Hannah Warburton (Leigh Harriers) with third spot going to Amy McGivern (Holmfirth Harriers).

Aldershot, Farnham & District AC took the team title with a 19-point victory over Stockport Harriers. Bronze medals went to Bedford & County AC.
