Temple Newsam on Saturday 21/02/2004 4.8 Km (Under 17 Women)

The Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country returned to Leeds but not at the usual venue of Roundhay Park as this was undergoing refurbishment but at Temple Newsam. The event was sponsored by Saucony. This was the first time the 1500-acre park had hosted the National. The course consisted of farmland and parkland and included a few hills.

Jessica Sparke (Woodford Green & Essex Ladies) sprinted up the last hilll to win the individual title by 4 seconds from Abi Westley (Hallamshire Harriers). Megan Foley of Havering AC picked up a bronze medal.

In the team race Aldershot, Farnham & District AC led by C Browning in fourth packed four in 30 to win comfortably. Runners up were Kingston Upon Hull AC with Royal Sutton Coldfield AC third.
