Cofton Park on Saturday 19/02/2005 5 Km (Under 17 Women)

The Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country Championships took place at Cofton Park in Birmingham. The course was undulating parkland and was expected to be a good test for cross-country runners.

Sian Edwards (Kettering Town Harriers) beat Steph Twell (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) by ten seconds with Danielle Sale (Orion Harriers) four seconds adrift of Twell to win the bronze medal.

Edwards told Athletics Weekly "I never expected to win but everything has gone really well this winter."

Royal Sutton Coldfield AC packed 4 in 19 to take team gold from a distant Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, City Of Norwich AC picked up bronze medals.
