Herrington Country Park in Sunderland hosted the Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country Championships. The park was built on the site of a former colliery and is located adjacent to Penshaw Monument. The event sponsors were Saucony.

Charlotte Purdue (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) won individual gold by 40 seconds from Heather Timmins (Warrington AC) with Rebecca Gough (Team Southampton) third.

Rotherham Harriers won team gold from Aldershot, Farnham & District AC by just 9 points with Royal Sutton Coldfield AC third.
