The Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country Championships were held at Roundhay Park in Leeds. The course had not been used for 12 years after repairs were required to the Victorian drainage system.
Emelia Gorecka (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) beat her clubmate Ruth Haynes by 30 seconds to take her fourth individual National title. Third place went to Emily Wallbank (Bedford & County AC).
Gorecka told Athletics Weekly "I'm just so fortunate to train with such a brilliant group and under such a great coach [Mick Woods]."
