Herrington Park on Saturday 23/02/2013 4.25 Km (Under 15 Girls)

The Under 15 Girl's English National Cross-Country Championships took place at Herrington Park, Sunderland. This was the second time that the former colliery had hosted the race after a visit in 2007.

A blizzard hit the northeast of England on the day of the race and runners and organisers arrived to find Herrington Country Park covered in three inches of snow.

Lucy Jones (Charnwood AC) took the individual title by six seconds from Harriet Knowles-Jones (Warrington AC) , third place went to Sabrina Sinha (Cambridge Harriers). Jones told Athletics Weekly: "I had no idea that I might win, I was going for top ten or maybe top five at best. I am so surprised."

Jones picked up double gold as she led her club to the team title by six points from Bracknell AC. Aldershot, Farnham & District AC picked up bronze medals.
