The Under 15 Girl's English National Cross-Country Championships were staged at Wollaton Park, Nottingham. The venue had been used many times for the inter-counties, but this was the first time for the 'National'.
Sabrina Sinha (Cambridge Harriers) took gold by eight seconds from Grace Goddard (Bracknell AC), third place went to Niamh Brown (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC).
Sinha told Athletics Weekly: "Grace was near me the whole way. I thought I was dying. I don't know where it came from. I gave it my all and it was worth it. I can't describe how I feel. It's so amazing. There are so many people (running) and every single person in the field work hard and everyone deserves to win. I tried to stay positive throughout and I almost gave up."
