Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath was once again the setting for the Under 15 Girl's English National Cross-Country Championships. Shoe company Saucony sponsored the race.
Southern champion Kathleen Faes (Tonbridge AC) led by 70 metres at the halfway stage, giving chase was Tilly Simpson (Hallamshire Harriers). Faes continued to increase her lead and went on to win by 29 seconds. Simpson had to settle for bronze as she was unable to hold off a challenge from Alex Brown (Herne Hill Harriers).
