Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead Heath was once again the setting for the Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country Championships. Shoe company Saucony sponsored the race.
One kilometre into the race Nortern champion Harriet Knowles-Jones (Warrington AC) led with Sabrina Sinha (Cambridge Harriers) second. Knowles-Jones spent the rest of the race moving away from the rest of the field to win by a whopping 47 seconds. Runner-up was Morven Goodrum (Windsor, Slough, Eton, & Hounslow AC) with Yoyo Barnsley (Cornwall AC) third.
Knowles-Jones told Athletics Weekly "I really wanted to win my first National. I wasn't right at Liverpool [Cross Challenge] but I feel fitter now and I really pushed on and felt strong."
