Donington Park in Leicestershire hosted the Junior Women's Cross-Country Championships. Once again Saucony sponsored the race. Local farmers made their land available for the race and one of radish fields had a section turned over to allow the runners to pass through.
Harriet Knowles-Jones (Warrington AC) led from the outset with Gemma Holloway (Thurrock Harriers) trying to stick with Knowles-Jones. A burst of speed from the Warrington ace took her clear and she went on to win but struggled at the end and collapsed over the line. Holloway grabbed second with Mari Smith (Leicester Coritanian AC) third.

After adding the under 20s to last year's under 17s title Knowles-Jones told Athletics Weekly: "I've never felt as tired as that before. The course was so tough. After we went up on the second hill on the last lap, my legs had just gone. I'm delighted to win again though."
