The Under 17 Women's English National Cross-Country Championships took place at Harewood House in Leeds. This was the first time the 'National' had been held at Harewood and the race took place on grounds landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in the 1770s. The race was 4.9km and consisted of two laps. Saucony continued their support of the event.
At the halfway point Olivia Mason (Border Harriers) trailed Charlotte Alexander (Herne Hill Harriers). With a mile to go Northern champion India Pentland (Darlington Harriers) had taken the lead. On the run in, Mason was too strong for Pentland and took the win by two seconds, Alexander faded to third.
