The eighty-eighth Senior Women's Cross-Country Championships took place at Wollaton Park, Nottingham. Notts AC assisted with the production of the event and the races were sponsored by Saucony. The 8km course consisted of one small lap, one medium lap and one large lap.
Area champions were Gemma Steel (Charnwood AC) - Midland, 2018 winner Jess Judd (Blackburn Harriers) - Northern and Jess Gibbon (Reading AC) - Southern. European Under-23 champion from Denmark Anna Moller (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) was also entered.
At the end of the first small lap Judd, Moller, Lauren Heyes (Leigh Harriers) and Bronwen Owen (Leeds City AC) led the pack. On the medium lap a group of six had broken away in single file headed by Moller who was followed by Judd, Owen, Gibbon, Abbie Donnelly (Lincoln Wellington AC) and Heyes. On the largest of the laps Moller forged ahead and never looked back as she continued to stretch her lead winning in 32:59, 100 metres clear of Judd with Bronwen Owen third.
22-year-old Anna Emilie Moller told Athletics Weekly: "It was the toughest cross-country I have run, the course and mud did not suit me but I am pleased with my run and my season, which is the best I've had." Runner-up Judd joked: "Maybe I should run in the Danish Championships next year! Winning a few years ago was one of the greatest wins of my life and meant so much to me."
