Caversham Park, Reading was the scene for the sixth Junior English Cross-Country Championship. The 6-mile grass land course consisted of one small lap and two large laps.
Peter Driver (South London Harriers) beat defending champion Johnny Wild (East Cheshire Harriers) after a gallant struggle, Driver won by 35 seconds to take the individual title. Third placer was M R Schofield (Polytechnic Harriers).
