The sixteenth Youth's English Cross-Country Championship took place at Parliament Hill Fields, London. The one lap course was three miles in length.
After a mile of the race A Evans (Hallamshire Harriers) led with clubmate Vic Poke in close attendance. Poke was followed by Tom Edmunds (Gilwern Harriers) and M Sadler (Derby & County AC). By two miles Poke had established a lead with Edmunds and Evans on his heels. Poke broke away in the final mile to win by 35 yards. Fred Stebbings (Croydon Harriers) finished well to take second place from Edmunds with Evans fourth.
