Parliament Hill Fields, London on Saturday 06/03/1965 9 Miles (Junior Men)

Parliament Hill Fields in London hosted the eighteenth Junior English Cross-Country Championships. The course was two laps of three miles each and started by the lido and finished by the athletic ground.

Midland champion Dick Taylor (Coventry Godiva Harriers) went ahead after about a mile and was never headed finishing 15 seconds in front of Ian McCafferty (Motherwell YMCA Harriers). John Hammond (Coventry Godiva Harriers) was third.

Despite their great start, Coventry Godiva Harriers were unable to retain the team award which they won the previous year, that honour went to Hallamshire Harriers who beat Hercules AC by 18 points. Sale Harriers picked up bronze medals.
